Chemring Group PLC (“Chemring”) is pleased to announce that its US subsidiary, Kilgore Flares Company LLC (“Kilgore”), based in Toone, Tennessee, has been awarded a second delivery order on their IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract for the supply of ALA-17/C infra-red (IR) decoy flares to the US Department of Defense. The flares are used by the US Air Force on B-52 aircraft to counter the threat of IR guided missiles. The contract was to extend over a two year period, and has a maximum potential value of $49 million. A first delivery order at a value of $27 million was placed on Kilgore in March 2010. This second delivery order for $22.5 million dollars maximizes the contract value in only 2 months. Deliveries are scheduled through 2013, and Kilgore’s order bookings for the year are over $150 million dollars.
