Chemring Defence (CD) and the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Defence Equipment & Support General Munitions Project Team (DGM PT) have signed a Partnering Agreement and Contract for the continued Supply of Signal & Screening Smoke Grenades as well as a range of General Pyrotechnics. The value of the 5-year Agreement and Contract is just under £40M.
Mike Helme, Managing Director – Europe Division said: “Chemring welcomes this agreement with the UK MOD which facilitates our long term planning and which underpins development and maintenance of critical UK capabilities in line with the MOD’s Defence Industrial and Technology Strategies.
DGM PT Team Leader, Colonel Andrew Gibson, commented;
“Security of supply of general munitions is vital. Our extended Partnering Agreement with Chemring Defence will help to safeguard this key capability area for at least five years. The Partnering Agreement will continue to provide security of supply of critical munitions to Front Line Commands and Operational Theatres and to meet training needs. Over the last seven years, Chemring Defence have proved that they can deliver a wide range of Pyrotechnics on time and at a fair price and we are pleased to be able to continue this partnering relationship”.
