Kilgore Flares Company lands $39M worth of IR Decoy Flare orders from the US DoD

Toone, TN, May 18 - Kilgore Flares Company, LLC ("Kilgore") has been awarded three contracts for decoy flares totaling $39M from the United States Navy, Air Force and Army.

The United States Navy has awarded Kilgore a $15.1M contract to manufacture MJU-32A/B infrared (IR) decoy flares in support of self protection systems for U.S. Navy platforms, including the P-3 and numerous Navy and Marine Corps rotary wing aircraft. Kilgore expects to complete the first delivery order, valued at $6M, by 1st Quarter 2010.

The United States Air Force has awarded Kilgore a $6.8M contract to manufacture MJU-53/B IR decoy flares for aircraft such as the C-17. Kilgore expects to complete the contract delivery by 4th Quarter 2009.

Kilgore manufactures the MJU-32A/B and MJU-53/B decoys in its automated IR grain complex and state-of-the-art flare assembly facilities in Toone, TN.

The United States Army has awarded Kilgore its second delivery order, valued at $17.1M, to manufacture M212 infrared decoy flares, which are components of the Advance Infrared Countermeasure Munition (AIRCMM) suite used by the US Army and US Air Force to protect helicopters. The first two awards are worth a total of $38M out of a five year indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract worth up to $382M. Kilgore will manufacture the M212 in its new advanced material processing facility.
