Chester Township, PA--Alloy
Surfaces Company, Inc. (ASC) of Chester Township, Pennsylvania,
announces the award of an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity
(IDIQ) contract from the United States Air Force (USAF) for
MJU-51A/B Special Material Decoys (SMD) with a total contract
ceiling of $51.9 Million. The USAF immediately awarded the
first order valued at $11.9 Million for MJU-51A/B decoys. The
USAF will start receiving these decoys in the first quarter of
2009. These SMDs are used as defense against IR homing
anti-aircraft missiles to decoy the missiles away from the

countermeasures, Alloy Surfaces Special Material Decoys are
virtually unobservable to the naked eye.
Dr. John LaFemina, President, ASC, stated: "The United
States Air Force continues to express its confidence and trust in
Special Material Decoys. Alloy Surfaces is very proud to do
our part to deliver the highest quality infrared decoys to protect
the warfighter and ensure the safe return of our pilots and air
crews fighting the Global War on Terrorism."
A subsidiary of Chemring Group PLC, UK, ASC is the world's
largest IR expendable countermeasure manufacturer and only producer
of Special Material Decoys. ASC's decoys are on the
leading edge of IR countermeasure technology and are currently
being used to protect a wide variety of United States and allied
military aircraft.
