Kilgore Flares Company, LLC awarded $4.37 Million for U.S. Air Force ALA-17/C IR Decoy Flares

Toone, TN, September 24 – The United States Air Force has awarded Kilgore Flares Company, LLC ("Kilgore") contract FA8213-07-C-0115 to manufacture ALA-17/C infrared (IR) decoy flares in support of the B-52 fleet. Total value of the contract is over $4.37 million, and represents Kilgore's second large contract award for production of ALA-17/C IR decoy flares.
The ALA-17/C is designed to provide seduction protection against heat-seeking missiles for B-52 aircraft. Kilgore recently incorporated numerous design improvements with the ALA-17/C to ensure B-52 survivability for all current and future missions.

Kilgore manufactures the ALA-17/C in its automated IR Grain complex and new state-of-the-art large flare assembly facility. Kilgore expects to complete this contract by March 2008.
