Chemring Group PLC Appointment of New US President

Chemring Group PLC (“Chemring” or “The Group”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan McKenrick as President of Chemring Group Inc. with effect from 25 September 2006.

Following a period of considerable growth over the past 12 months, largely driven by organic growth in the Countermeasures business and the acquisition of five new companies in the Energetics division, this newly created role will focus on the development of Chemring’s US business and the manufacture of products for the US market.

Dan McKenrick, aged 44, will assume full responsibility for all of Chemring’s US operations and will report directly to Chemring’s CEO, Dr. David Price.

The Group is now looking to sustain its recent growth and achieve its ambition of becoming the leading producer of Countermeasures and Energetic materials for the global defence market. Further acquisition of new businesses will form an important part of this strategy and the US businesses will play a vital role in this future growth.

Dan joined the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1984 after graduating from the US Military Academy. He served in a variety of engineering assignments including Task Force Engineer. His commercial experience includes Plant Manager, Marketing, and General Manager assignments in the medical device and defence industries.

Dan joins Chemring from General Dynamics, Ordnance and Tactical Systems Division, where he had responsibility for managing the Tactical Air Munitions business that manufactured a wide range of aircraft munitions. Dan has been with General Dynamics, previously Primex Technologies, for nine years, during which time his organizations developed innovative new programmes, secured new contracts, and improved operational efficiencies, helping to increase revenues and improve profits.
